  Would not recommend Dr. Elliott to women age 18-24, due to his highly inflammatory behavior. When I was nineteen years old, he tried to force me to take a pregnancy test without asking a.) when my last period was (5 years ago), or b.) if I was sexually active (No). When I refused, he shoved a pamphlet in my face about a stomach medicine he assumed I was taking and told me that I would do severe damage to my baby. He highlighted mental retardation and paralysis with a yellow highlighter marker and moved his chair in front of mine as if cross-examining a suspect. I was completely taken aback, and didn't immediately understand the suggestions being made. It soon became obvious that, by discriminating my age and gender without any proper medical questioning or examination, Dr. Elliott prejudged my inflammatory bowel condition as "teenage pregnancy." Once I pointed out that he hadn't even asked me when my last period was or if I was sexually active, and that if he had ask the necessary medical questions, he'd know I had amenorrhea/no period for over five years (definitely not a pregnancy), his mouth dropped open as if he recognized his error and then suddenly he became absolutely irate. His face got very red and he stood up as I was gathering my books to leave. He shouted at me as I was shaking to gather my books and his nurse stood behind him with her arms crossed and a very unpleasant smile/sneer on her face. She had also been trying to force me to take a pregnancy test, and not wanting to expose my private parts to them or ever even having a pap smear, I had politely refused to take it. Still shouting at me, Dr. Elliott opened the door of that examining room and shouted at me down the hall, "AND DON'T YOU EVER TALK TO YOUR PROFESSORS THE WAY YOU TALKED TO ME, OR YOU"LL NEVER GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE." He was so irate, I had intense concerns he would strike me. As quickly as I could without running, I left from his office and never looked back or went back. Turns out, the small abdominal mass that he prejudged as teenage pregnancy before asking medical questions was actually Celiacs Disease. If you are a woman who cares about your health and medical condition, it is advisable to avoid Dr. Kirk Elliott of Clinical Gastroenterology in North Canton, Ohio.
